My name is Yunkuan Wu, and I’m a 17-year-old mineral and fossil collector. My interest in minerals and fossils started when I was a kid, and I have been seriously collecting since 2019. I am a member of the Young Mineral Collectors (YMC), as well as the Shanghai Mineral and Fossil Society.

I collect a little bit of everything, but my collection mainly focuses on European classics, especially specimens from Germany. I’m also deeply drawn to old and historical pieces, each carrying its own story of past collectors and geological heritage. Every specimen tells a story of geological processes, the places they come from, and the wonder of nature’s artistry. The reason I’m so in love with mineral and fossil specimens is that each one is unique in its own way, and I will never find another one that’s identical in the entire world. The story behind each specimen also fascinates me, and I strive to learn as much of their history as I can.
